They said nothing about a new boss on the ward she was working on and it had just made her job much harder than it already was. The new boss did not like her for some reason but she was just trying to ignore it. She would like to believe that she was going to be fine but everything seemed to falling around her, it was for that reason that she was currently drinking away her sorrows. Fallon was not normally one to drink but her she found herself anyway. This marriage law was putting a downer on her plans for her life. She felt like she was too young to get married and have the 2.5 kids. It was just not something she wanted, but like there was something that would get her out of it. It was going to be the death of her, just waiting for that owl with the name of her future husband.
Fallon had always been somewhat of a loner, even while she had been at Hogwarts and now she was a Healer. It was a crazy world she lived in, and it was often full of lonely days and with everything that had been happening lately, she was not entirely sure whom she could trust, she did not know who wanted to be friends with just her. Most of her friends from school she had lost contact with and it made her a little upset to think about it, she just wanted to know people who would make her feel less alone, sometimes a person could not make it on her own. Fallon was a firm friend to anyone she deed worthy, she would be there for them repeatedly, and it may be the Ravenclaw within her or her mother’s words to give everyone a chance. There was often emptiness within her and she tried her hardest not to let it get to her, she did not want to walk alone anymore, she was fed up of it. She just shook her head, she should really stop thinking in such ways, it would not do her any good in the long term. On the up side, she had a job she loved and it had taken her a while to train for it, but now it was worth it since she now worked in spell damages. There was something new every day.
As of this moment, she could be found sat in the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade having a quiet drink, it was somewhere she would always go to have some time to think and to herself. It was from her years at Hogwarts and she missed the place quite a bit, maybe one day she would be able to work there in the infirmary, then she knew that she would be home. Her parents never really understood why she did not return to the muggle world to work, but it was hard to explain to them that she loved the Wizarding World. It was her home and had been since she was eleven years old, so that was over ten years, she would never be able to just turn her back on it all. She loved it too much to just walk away, even with the dark times that seemed to be coming, especially after the death, it had made her think quite a bit and she chose not to tell her parents about it, they would only worry.
A drink here and there was something she did enjoy doing, when she opened up and had friends she would often be rather talkative and it would be hard for people to shut her up. Sophia was described as having two sides to her – the quiet and innocent side and then there was the party animal side and she was almost like a different person. People sometimes did not know how to take her. Fallon was sat at a table on her own, looking around and taking in the people around her. Since it was her day off work, she was dress in a simple pair of jeans and t-shirt with her leather jacket over the top, it was something she was very comfortable in, she had never been fond of robes.

Sirius kicked the dirt on the ground as he sauntered to a stop outside the three broomsticks. This week had been awful - and even that was an understatement. It all started on Saturday when he had found out about this whole 'married in five years' thing, and had progressively sucked from thereon-in.
Prongs was busy once again. He always was. Sirius was happy for his friend and the fact that he'd finally managed to get with Evans, but there was still part of him that kinda resented it. It wasn't like Sirius was particularly objective in the first place, but it was hard to remember that James had other priorities right now other than Sirius.
He sighed heavily and stared up at the Three Broomsticks sign. When had his life become so dull? He shoved his hands deep into his pockets and stepped inside the warmth, glad to be out of the cold.
The place was basically empty. Well, Sirius did exaggerate a lot. It certainly wasn't as busy as it usually was. But, considering that it was two o'clock on a Tuesday afternoon, that wasn't saying much. Sirius, after making eyes at Rosmerta, collected his drink and scanned the room for a spare seat. Specifically, a spare seat next to a leggy brunette.
Finding the right seat, Sirius took a brisque walk and tried not to spill his drink in the process. "Is this seat taken?" he asked, pulling the chair out before the lady could object.
Hang on a second, he thought as he studied her further. He knew her from somewhere... Squinting and trying to concentrate, Sirius managed to put the face to a name. Fallon Reynolds. They'd been at school together, hadn't they? And whoa did she turn into something nice. "Long time no see,"
he said, raising his eyebrows as he leaned back in his chair.[/blockquote]

Sipping her drink, she took a deep breath and continued to look around the small pub, it had become a place she would come when she wanted t just have some time to herself, or when she talked with the few friends, she had. It would seem that in the world, there were still people that had prejudice to muggleborns witches. She would often prove herself against it all and if they ever had something wrong with them then she could become their healer, so they had better be nice to her or she might not be as nice as she normally is. Fallon could sometimes be burnt out and numb about some of things she thought about, but she would lock it away, she was not one normally to express her emotions. Tilting her drink she took yet another sip if it again, she had to admit she did enjoy a night out with friends a few weeks, it had been a change and she had not had that much fun in such a long time. Just great now she needed another drink, she motioned for another one and it was something stronger this time. Thankfully.
“Well it could have been.” She muttered under her breath before looking up at the man that had taken the seat she did not want occupied. “I would say, the last time you saw me, you pranked me and destroyed my glasses.” Fallon responded with a raised eyebrow of her own. “I couldn’t say that I have missed you.” This was not working out to be her week at all. Now she had to deal with one Sirius Black. The torture she endured from their pranks just because she cared about her studies and future.
Was this what her life was coming to? Bumping to the people, she went to school with and seeing them happy. Sometimes it just sucked, but she would move on. After all you only live once. “Since I have the pleasure of your company, what brings you here?” She asked looking at him while she took a sip of drink. Fallon could not deny that during school she had the slightest crush on him, but what girl did not during school. He was just as handsome now. It was too bad that he could be such an ass. It was so typical. She did know something; she could not be bothered with any drama. “You are looking well.”

Sirius frowned. Could it possibly be that someone in the wizarding community possibly had ill feelings towards him? Nahh. It didn't waver Sirius' confidence in the slightest. He folded his arms on the edge of the table and rested his chin, his big brown eyes looking up at Fallon. "I'm sure you've missed me a little,"
he winked at her, a grin spreading over his cocky face. He didn't remember pranking her specifically, but then again, he and the Marauders pranked so many people it was hard to keep track. "Well," he started, sitting back upright and taking a long sip out of his firewhisky. "In case you haven't heard the news about these new marriage laws," he said, eyeing her to see if she indeed had heard about them. "Everyone has to get married and have kids and it's disgusting, and I for one would rather be drunk." He took another large gulp of his drink. "And so I come in here and see your pretty face, and so here I am," he winked at her and downed the rest of the small glass in his hand. "Your turn. What brings you here on a sunny Tuesday afternoon?" He hadn't actually seen her in years, and in all honesty was very surprised that he remembered her name. Sirius was hopeless with names. Especially girl's names. But that was beside the point. He leant back in his chair, feeling the buzz of the firewhisky course through his fingers. Mm, this whole 'marriage' thing was going to be a lot more bearable when he was drunk, that was for sure.[/blockquote]

“I can’t say I have missed your face, my life has actually been peaceful and not looking over my shoulder to see if I am going to be pranked again.” She spoke with a slight smile on her face, taking yet another deep sip of her drink. “For the same reason as you Black.” Fallon raised her glass slightly. It seemed that this marriage law was affecting more people in the same way as it was doing to her. Surely, it could not last that long, it would be overturned sooner or later. It just had to be, maybe that was her dreaming coming through.
“This law is idiocy at its best; I mean I don’t want to be stuck with some loser raising the brat I did not want. I have so much that I want to do with my life. It can’t be over just like that can it?” Fallon raised an eyebrow for a moment, not entirely sure why she was asking him this because he was just some idiot in her eyes as well. A stereotypical pretty boy with a vain, ego to match.
Leaning back into her chair, she nearly fell off it if she had not regained her balance back just in time. “Oh hell, please don’t tell me you just saw that?” Fallon whispered, looking at him for a moment, it would seem that she was still a lightweight even now. Alcohol was not her best friend, it had never been but it was so good for making her forget things she did not want to remember. “So Black, what are you doing with your life apart from waiting for your future wife?”

Sirius had to laugh. Whether Fallon intended it to be funny or not, it was. It was good to know that he and Prongs had left such a mark on her. At least they'd never be forgotten. Sirius was proudly the record holder of most detentions in one week, with a high score of twenty-seven. "But I bet you've missed me in other ways, Reynolds,"
he winked, unable to hide a chuckle. Really? She was here for the same reason as him? Didn't she have to work? Sirius was most definitely unemployed (and thanks to his Uncle Alphie, he would always remain that way) and so sporting a drink on a Tuesday afternoon was not quite uncommon for the young Black. He had the inkling that Fallon was either skipping work, or something else had happened and she just wasn't letting on. "If only more people thought like you and I," he said, raising his empty glass at her. Every word she spoke was completely true. Who wanted to be married for the rest of their lives and have children?! Eugh. Sirius couldn't actually think about it without vomiting into his mouth a little. "They'll have to change the law eventually," he said in return, setting his empty glass down on the table in front of him and folding his arms. "It's not exactly the best idea the Ministry has ever come up with." Whatever Fallon had had in her glass, it must have been rather strong. Sirius was pretty good when it came to alcohol consumption, but Fallon.. Sirius stared at her with wide eyes as she inquired as to what he'd been up to. Perhaps she was just making conversation, or maybe she really did miss Sirius more than he'd joked about. "Been fixing up my bike," he said, watching her intently. "Nearly got it to the point where it can shoot fire out the exhaust. And by nearly, I mean it's currently shooting out a weird purple smoke, but it'll be right soon enough." He gestured over to Rosmerta for two more drinks and soon turned his attention back to Fallon. "What about you? What's keeping you busy?" Usually, Sirius could care less about what other people were up to, but he still wanted to find an answer as to why she wasn't out working like the normal people of the Wizarding World.[/blockquote]

“Like a hole I the head Black.” She spoke with a raised eyebrow, but a slight smile resting on her lips. Fallon could not understand why someone would want to cause so much trouble and still be proud of it. It had never appealed to her; something she had never got into at school was trouble. It might explain why she was one of the few people that actually enjoyed the job she was in if it was not for that awful boss she had. Life hated at the moment, it really did. It was one thing after another.
Fallon raised her glass back in response since what he was speaking the truth. “I wish, they seem pretty set on it this time. However, if the law does change, what about the people already stick with the brat for life. Not something, I would want. I mean I am all for children in a happy family, but imagine explaining to the kid they were not wanted and only here because of some stupid law.” She babbled on for a while. “It’s not right and rant over.” Fallon shrugged her shoulders for a moment.
“Boys and their toys, I never understood the fascination with motorbike and I am a muggleborn. There are just… so … dangerous.” Shaking her head, taking a sip of the new drink that had been placed in front of her. “Why do you want it to shoot fire of all things? You have a screw loose Black.”
“I work as a Healer, so I work shift patterns so today is my day off. I have the boss from hell that doesn’t seem to like me since I play by the rules as normal.” Looking down at her glass as she spoke, looking into the amber liquid. “I envy you sometimes Black, being able to do what the hell you want and not having to worry about anything.” Fallon looked up at him to find him watching her. “I would love to just give it all up and go and see the world and have the simple life. Life sucks.” She chuckled lightly. “Enough moping about my life, I have to endure it.” That statement was more to herself than anything else.
Looking back at him once more, she regarded him. “You have not changed one bit since school, and I was three years below you at school. I was surprised you even remembered me if I am honest. I was the geek with glasses that stayed invisible.”

Sirius pushed his mouth into a hard line. There was no way in hell that he was going to admit that she was right, because that was admitting defeat. There would be some way to repeal the stupid law and Sirius would go back to being single, carefree and happy. And not worry about getting frown lines on his gorgeous face from how potentially stressful this situation could become. Sirius just nodded as Fallon finished ranting, unsure of what to say about it all. Which was something different for the young Black, who would probably outlive Merlin trying to have the last word.
"You're a muggleborn?"
Sirius asked, his interest picking up. She was exactly what his parents would have hated - which only made Sirius become more interested. But, pity for him, his parents were now dead and he had nobody left in his family to stick it to. He grinned at her. "Thus the appeal," he said with an accompanying gesture. The more dangerous, the better. "Well, why the hell not? Who else do you know that has a flying motorbike that can shoot fire." Just like all things, Sirius was one of a kind. Ahhh, Sirius said softly. "A healer. That sounds... interesting." he said, trying to refrain from saying 'dead boring'. And it was her day off. His train of thought was interrupted by Fallon addressing him. "Be sure to marry someone rich, then," he said as a half-joke. "That way you can use all his money to go off and see the world." He gave her a cheesy grin and turned around to take the drinks from Rosmerta, who had just wandered over with a tray. He thanked her and placed one of the two glasses down in front of Fallon before turning around to admire the view as Rosmerta walked away. Unfhhg. "Well, it seems like I've left a mark on you," he winked, taking a sip from his glass. As much as what she had said was true, he remembered her for a reason. "I think Wor-" he stopped himself. "-Peter had a thing for you back in our seventh year," he said, waving his hand around in a gesture. "Totally head over heels. I think James and I pushed him into you oh-so-casually one time, but he fell over..." he laughed, remembering fondly. Those were the days before Peter turned psychotic. "But it's good to know that you haven't forgotten me over all these years."[/blockquote]

“Yes I am a muggle-born; I get the best of both worlds.” She said joking and giving him a small smile. It was a small joke she did because it was true, she loved some parts of the muggle world such as the fashion, but she loved using magic and everything about it. Magic was a part of her now and it would forever be. Fallon just shook her head when he started to continue to talk about his motorbike shooting fire. “I think that one day you can get yourself killed riding the thing or at least set yourself on fire.” She spoke with a raised eyebrow.
“Oh god I could not stand Peter he was just a little worm, something about him was never right.” She says looking horrified at the idea of him liking her, it made her want to feel physically sick even at the thought of it. Fallon closed her eyes for a moment and took a deep breath before opening them once again. “As for a rich husband, if he can buy his way to get the law changed then I would be a very happy girl. I am a little short on knowing any rich people, so that idea flies out the window.” Shrugging once more at him.
Raises an eyebrow once more at him. “You have no idea how much I wanted to forget you, you made my life hell at school sometimes it was annoying and rather childish.” Fallon spoke with freedom sipping her drink. “So… any plans for the future apart from making my life less peaceful?” She asked him with a raised eyebrow trying to make some conversation.
“But it’s good to see that you got through the dark times and are keeping yourself well. In a non-creepy sort of way.” Fallon laughed and then smiled shaking her head, her slightly tipsy with courage and confidence fuelled by alcohol.

Sirius couldn't help but nod. He'd made friends with a fair few muggleborns in his time - mainly to stick it to his parents - and that was one of the things he'd found, too. They had access to all the awesome muggle things that the world had to offer; cigarettes, clothing, and motorbikes.
He grinned, flashing his pearly whites at Fallon. "You know me, Reynolds. Would I ever be reckless on a bike?"
As much as Fallon put up the front that she was incredibly annoyed at Sirius, he was starting to have fun. His mind had been taken off the whole 'marriage' thing and he was starting to unwind and let his proverbial hair down. "Yeah, well, I wish I'd had your intuition back in the day," he scowled, referring to Peter Pettigrew the betrayer. He'd always loved having Peter around back when they were at Hogwarts. Peter worshipped the very ground that he and James walked on, as well as being a very funny - but timid - guy. "You heard what happened to him, right?" he asked out of curiosity, referring to the fact that Peter had gone to the dark side and joined You-Know-Who and his merry band of men. Sirius had to refrain from saying it. He was rich. But he didn't want to spend his fortune on buying the law. "James is rich. But I think you'll have some competition there," he said, referring to the fact that James now had Lily Evans (after all the years of moping and pining). Picking up his glass, Sirius took a long sip and drained the glass of the liquid, finally feeling the alcohol spread to his brain. So, he did feel a little guilty for making her life hell, but he was just pranking. Innocent pranks. That's all it was. "I just want to figure out how to get around this marriage law, in all honesty," he said in a straight tone of voice. There were no words to describe just how much of a terrible father and husband he would make. He couldn't help but grin. Even if she did hate him, she was still rather nice. "Aww, shucks, Reynolds." He pushed his empty glass aside and folded his arms across his chest. "Same could be said about you." He winked. "So, what are your plans for the rest of the afternoon?" he asked. Sirius had absolutely no plans bar wandering around Hogsmeade.[/blockquote]

“Black you were reckless at everything you did and it would not surprise me if you were still now.” Fallon spoke what she thought. He was immature in her eyes and just a constant pain in her backside if he had been there all the time. Thank Merlin for some small miracles that were out there. Some day she would love to hex him and he would not see him coming, then she would really laugh t him and enjoy every moment of it. “But some men just never grow up mentally; I suppose you fit nicely into that category don’t you.” It was more of a statement than a question and she knew that she would no doubt get a smart arsed comment back from him, and she was ready for it because she had liquid courage fuelling what was coming out of her mouth.
“Money is not everything I suppose but it can help with the small things in life.” She shrugged a little. “And no thank you, I would not touch James Potter if he were the last male on this planet.” Fallon spoke loudly and then nodded slightly at the question of Peter but did not feel the need to answer it with actually words. Fallon then finished the last of her next drink off and placed the empty glad on the table before folding her arms and crossing her legs looking at the annoying man sat at the same table. “You would be lousy marriage material I think, you are far too selfish and… just you for anything like that.” She spoke her mind once more, looking directly at him.
“As for plans, I suppose it was just going to be in here drinking the world away and forgetting about the crap I and the rest of the people my age are about to be put through. I think it’s a great plan.” She said almost convincing herself on the last statement. “What about you Black? Going to enjoy the time, you have remaining as a free man. Or just go into hiding?”
