Well hello dear! Come on in and sit yourself down!
My name's Serah Thalies and I'll be conducting your interview this afternoon to see if we can find you a perfect match!
Let's get started with your full name,
Alice Marie Logan
And do you have a nicknames?
Some friends call me Al for short but most just call me Alice
And let's be honest now, how old are you?
25 years old
And which school did you go to?
HOGWARTS
And which house were you in?
Gryffindor like my father was when he attended Hogwarts
Fascinating, now lets add a picture to your folder shall we? I believe you have brought one along today.
Now what's your family heritage?
Halfblood
Brilliant! And when did you get your wand?
11 inches Yew and Pegasus Feather
That's good to know, now is there anything else we should know? Anything that irritates you?
Judgmental people, when my friends are upset with me, and failing at my Auror training
And is there anything you really quite like?
Being an Auror, Sunshine and rainbows, Afternoon tea with my family, freshly picked flowers, helping people
Okay, so let's move on, tell me your skills.
As an Auror I have been trained to be quick on my feet, I am very skilled in charms and magical defense as well as transfigurations and charms. My mom says that I am a pro at baking cookies the muggle way. My trainer for the auror program always tells me that I am too nice to people as well so I guess that means that I am charitable. Oh and I can knit a bit for fun.
And anything you wish you were better at?
Potions… I can’t really make them on the fly I need the recipe if I am going to do anything. My friends say that I am a bit of a dumb blond so I guess I would want to be taken a bit more seriously by my friends and my co workers. Maybe be a stronger flyer as well… right now I have issues holding the broom and although I can fly with it the landings are always rough.
That's all fantastic lovey! Now shall we talk a little about your family? Great! Tell me about your parents.
Anne Logan, Housewife AND Muggle born
Thomas Logan, Retired Auror AND Pureblood
And any siblings?
A younger sister who just turned 20.
That's enough about your family now so we can move on to finding you a perfect match! Do you have anyone in mind that you would like a date with?
Well… there is the one boy that I work with named Frank Longbottom. We were in the same house in Hogwarts and like best friends. He and I both entered the Auror program together and I guess if I had to date and spend the rest of my life with someone it would be him.
Okay, and what do you like in a partner?
A gentleman, someone who is kind and hard working, he needs to be ambitious and strong
And what do you not want in a partner?
Someone lazy and who just wants to get by, greedy, and someone who hates sunshine
Anyone in particular that you'd like to avoid?
Nope!
Fantastic work, fantastic! It looks like we'll be finding you your perfect match in no time lovey! Just one last thing and then you can go. Just post me your experience of finding out about the new marriage law.
Alice had another busy day of training with her class of Aurors in training. It was a group of about 15 candidates that wanted to become Aurors and they all trained together day after day. The worst part was being the only female in this group of candidates. It just placed more pressure on Alice to do well and to show them that a girl could do this job. So when the boys trained Alice was always at the top of the pack wither it be the obstacle course or just running through the woods. She was always first to the finish line and always the first to raise her hand during the portion where spells and defensive magic was practiced. The bubbly blond stood out among her group for more than just being the only female and she was proving herself day after day. This morning had been particularly rough on her since it was another run and another flying work out but her flying skills were starting to improve ever so slightly. Her muscles ached and she longed for the locker room shower where she could have hot water clean off the mud and debris. There was only one locker room for the candidates so she was forced to wait until all of the guys finished but it was alright since she had a newspaper to read until they were done.
She unfolded the paper and laid it out on the table in front of her. The guys in the locker room were doing their usual cat calls towards her but she was used to it so it just slipped through her without any affect on her. The headline grabbed her eyes when she opened the paper. Marriage Laws to Continue Bloodlines. Marriage that required children to be produced? Alice was quite confused that the ministry could require such things of their citizens. It must have been against some sort of right that they had as humans. Still as an ordinary citizen she had no say in what the ministry did or which policies they passed. A sign escaped her lips as she pondered the idea of marriage and children. Where would it leave her career in the long run? Obviously she couldn’t be an Auror once she got pregnant unless she wanted to sit at a desk by herself all day. And she was so close to becoming a full Auror. Soon the guys were coming over to check out the headlines as well and soon the locker room was filled with chatter about marriage and who would end up with who.
Alice sort of snuck away to her locker, which was located far away from the guys. Still in shock she got out of her training clothing and into her regular street clothing so she could go home. They guys were still chatting about having wives and how they wanted someone submissive who stayed at home to cook them food. How would she ever get a husband? She was nothing like that and this whole law interfered with her life plan. Her life plan had been to further her career as an auror and if love ever found her then wonderful. Love was now being forced on her and Alice needed a moment away from the rowdy group of guys to clear her head. So she left the Auror training program for the day feeling very confused and very lost about her own life and the injustice of forcing marriage on everyone.
Brilliant, thank you so much for your time deary, you may let yourself out when you're ready. Buh-bye!
